How can European cities welcome refugees?
Floris Alkemade, the Dutch Government architect, invites the curators of the Finnish, Austrian and Dutch pavilions to join in a conversation to address one of the most prominent urgencies of our time, the refugee crisis.

With over 60 million refugees and internally displaced persons around the world, Dutch and European cities should open up and develop alternative strategies and innovative designs to welcome refugees.
Participants:
- Floris Akemade, commissioner of A Home Away from Home, a competition to design new housing solutions for asylum seekers.
- Juulia Kauste (Finnish Pavilion), commissioner of From Border to Home, Housing Solutions for Asylum Seekers.
- Elke Delugan-Meissl (Austrian pavilion), curator of 'Places for People'.
- Malkit Shoshan (Dutch Pavilion), curator of BLUE: Architecture of UN Peacekeeping Missions.
The conversation will take place at the Dutch pavilion on Friday May 27, at 4 p.m., moderated by Matthias Bottger, artistic director of the German Center of Architecture (DAZ).
